Charles Dickens: reading recommendations

From my YouTube channel: some thoughts on the reading of Charles Dickens.

Dickens is one of my favorites among the authors whose books are part of the obligatory high school reading list.

That said, some of his books are more readable than others.

There are Dickens novels (like Barnaby Rudge) that are simply too slow-moving for modern audiences with different expectations. Other Dickens novels are too dependent on the specific historical context Victorian England.

The ones I most recommend are David Copperfield and A Tale of Two Cities. You can't go wrong with these.
