Eleven Miles of Night: Reading #54:





"...The leaves were a fluke, he decided, crunching them in his hand and letting them fall to the ground. The leaves must have drifted down from one of the trees. This was plausible: There might be a breeze at the higher levels of the treetops, a breeze that would not be detectable from the ground.  
But still—this development warranted another try with the EMF detector. After narrating a brief voice memo about the fallen leaves, he once again removed the EMF device from his backpack and clicked it on..."
