Eleven Miles of Night: Reading #106





Jason climbed into the passenger seat of Jenkins’ pickup truck. The space was crowded; he had to sit with his knees splayed so that he could place his backpack on the floorboard. Jenkins put the pickup in reverse and backed it up, pulling the truck perilously close to the roadside drainage ditch as he did so. Finally the truck was rolling back in the direction whence it had come, toward the south. 
Well, Jason thought. At least I am getting closer to my final destination of John’s Mistake. 


But that was a completely invalid assessment. He was supposed to be hiking, and he was supposed to be gathering annotated footage as he went....
