The value of self-discipline

Think of discipline as something you impose on yourself, so that others may not impose it on you.

The person who does not practice financial self-discipline will be subject to the whims of his creditors. He will be a lifelong wage slave.

The person who eats poorly, fails to exercise, and does not take care of his health will find himself forced to rely on others. He will grow old and frail before his time.

Discipline is a burden when it’s imposed from the outside. It becomes a tool when you impose it on yourself.
