Was Pamplona "ruined on account of Hemingway?"

The Sun Also Rises is probably my favorite Hemingway novel. The novel popularized the "running of the bulls" at Pamplona, even though the practice was already 400 years old by the time Hemingway discovered it. Is This Hemingway’s Pamplona or a Lot of Bull?
